Many farms specialize in raising weanling pigs, and practice what is called all-in/all-out management  where the entire barn is filled with weanlings in one day, and emptied when they are 12 weeks old. This allows the farmer to thoroughly clean and disinfect the barn before the next group of weanlings come in to help keep piglets healthy.
