Image# D018 - Robotic milker
Robotic milking systems are being installed on some dairy farms in Ontario. This technology is operated by computer. The cows enter the milking area at their leisure. The robotic unit will wash the teats and attach the milking unit. After milking the cow, it dips the teats in an antibacterial solution. Farmers use computers to monitor the amount of feed the cow eats and the amount of milk she gives using a transponder identification around her neck.
