Title:
Transportation
Image ID:
B071
Description:
Cattle are transported between farms, to auction barns, or to processing plants in specially designed trucks that look like this. They're called "pot" trucks. Farmers follow Codes of Practice that set out guidelines in all areas of cattle lives. These Codes contain recommendations to assist farmers in improving their own management practices in many areas, including shelter, housing and dietary requirements. Transportation protocols include recommended maximum transportation times, and minimum feed, water and rest times for cattle in transit. Animals that are treated well during transportation arrive at their destinations in far better physical and mental shape.
