Manure is the original fertilizer and helps to build soil up with organic matter. Farmers test their soil to determine how much is needed to fertilize their crops. Farmers match their manure and fertilizer nutrients with what their crops require in an environmentally-friendly manner. If there are not enough, or too many nutrients in the soil, the plants will not grow properly. Almost all animal manure is incorporated back into the soil for crop production, or sold as natural fertilizers to gardeners.
